2 day beginner clinics

Join Love Boat for a wonderful weekend of rapids, eddies, surf, and friends. Whether you’re a total beginner or looking to tape into some class III skills, this weekend is intended to help a range of beginner paddlers.

Beginner Clinics Overview

    • June 27-28, 2026

    • Novice - Beginners

    • 18 years old and up

    • Whether you’re brand new or just want a little help these clinics are designed to help beginners reach the next step

  • Friday night, 7 pm:

    • Meet and greet at Love Boat

    • Get fitted for gear if needed

    or

    • Have us check your personal gear

    Saturday, 10:00 am:

    • Harpers lake

    • Optional Camping at 9 mile Prairie Campground. It is a first-come-first-serve fee sight.

    Sunday, 9:30- 10 am:

    • Head to the river and paddle till 3-4pm

    • Rolling

    • Catching eddies/ edge control

    • Reading whitewater

    • Paddling rapids

    • Assisted rescues and on water safety

    • Kayak gear

    • Shuttle transportation

    • Safety gear

    • Extra water

  • -Personal food and snacks

    -water bottle

    -Warm layers for the river (no cotton)

    -Warm layers for after river

    -Shoes that can get wet

    -Transportation to the selected put-in location
